📣 Thinking of hiring a brand designer?
Know what to ask, and what to expect!
Don’t just go with the first logo-lover you stumble across online. Your brand is your business’s first impression, and a well-thought-out identity can make the difference between blending in… and standing out.
💡 Before signing on the dotted line, here are 8 questions every client should ask:
- Can I see your portfolio?
Look for versatility, polish, and purpose. Bonus points if they’ve worked with businesses like yours. - What’s your process?
Do they have one? A solid designer should be able to walk you through each stage of how they build a brand. - What’s included in your branding package?
Logos? Fonts? Colour palette? Guidelines? Know exactly what you’re getting. - Do you offer brand strategy or just visuals?
A pretty logo won’t cut it if it’s not rooted in purpose. Ask if they explore positioning, audience, or voice. - How do you handle feedback and revisions?
It’s your brand — you should be part of the conversation, not a silent bystander. - Will I own the final files?
You’re investing in this — make sure you’re getting the rights to use your brand however you need. - Do you supply different file formats?
You’ll need more than just a PNG. A great designer will set you up with everything from print-ready files to web and social assets. - Can this identity grow with my business?
Your brand needs to be scalable. What works on a business card should also sing on a billboard.
